Finding what you love

Feedback is what gets me going. I’ve been slow, but I love seeing what everyone shares an interest in or needs improvement on.

The main thing I want to focus on is finding multi functional pieces for your space. No one wants a cluttered home, that looks like a five year old designed it! Start out by finding pieces for your space that you love the look of, and are useful in more than one way!

First thing I would suggest is an Ottoman with storage or simply a nice looking dresser! You don’t have to put a dresser only in a bedroom, put it in your living room, office- anywhere! The multiple drawers can help with organizing, and will help hide clutter. If you have lots of electronics, I recommend putting a nice looking dresser that you love (doesn’t even need to be expensive to look nice!) and use it as a TV stand. Simply drill a few holes in the back and string the cords through there to hide that mess! Fill the drawers with whatever you want to hide and your mess will be minimal! Display your TV, charging area, gaming system- you name it! Play around with what looks best to you! Ottomans can be great if you have kids. Hiding toys, games, blankets etc. Find an ottoman that flows well with your space, is useful, and comfortable! An ottoman can be a win win situation, as it’s storage but also extra seating.

Last thing I wound recommend is simply just a bookshelf or any shelf that is, with multiple levels! This can be multi functional as well. Get some baskets or whatever type of organization you like and display it on the shelving. Add some decor here and there to make it look more decorative and not just a storage locker shelf!

Inspiration in Design

I take huge inspiration from random things I see. That’s always been my main question- where do I get my inspiration from? Who do I follow?

I’m a visual person who has an eye for aesthetically pleasing pieces, looks, anything really. I’ll scroll through Pinterest or some great design social media pages, and envy their look but I will also come to the conclusion that everyone has their thing. I may like the bright and appealing neutrals, but may not like the accent colors. I take inspiration and ideas through many outlets.

Another huge outlet I gain inspiration from is finding aesthetics or even just random pictures that have nothing to do with design and gaining creativity and ideas from that. Everyone has their own way of gaining inspiration to be creative with their space. Emphasis on their because it’s your space! You can do what you want with it, and everyone has different techniques in finding inspiration. Do what suits you and what will allow you to find the upmost inspiration to create your space!

My personal aesthetic is bright appealing neutrals. I love love love using plants and neutral accents here and there for little extras in my space. Having an all neutral space (if that’s your thing) can be so fun and original if you add your own touch on it. Another thing I love is adding pops of colors here and there to make the space stand out.

Here’s a few images that I’ve taken huge inspiration from♡

About me:)

“Creativity is intelligence having fun.”-Albert Einstein

I’ve always been creative. I’ve always enjoyed art, making my own creations, and loved expressing my creativity through design and decorating.

Interior design has always been an interest of mine. My parents and siblings saw it coming from a young age. As I was always rearranging my room, adding this and that to make it my own–adding bedding and maybe curtains or a rug, that you would never think to put together, to create contrast and style. Design and Decorating was my passion. I loved all the newest design trends– especially my Dora themed room. The bright colors, which quickly faded to my love for neutrals–and my aesthetically pleasing room.

I like clean. Neutrals, with some pops of pastels. I love plants. My family knows that, as I practically have a plant shrine in my room–filled with succulents, palm leaves, little cactuses. I like adding textures and patterns to a simple room, to spice things up. It may not be everyone’s style, but everyone’s style is one in the same. Everyone has their thing. Whether you love clean and pleasing, or bright and personality popping.

As I come close to the age of figuring out my future, I’ve started thinking about this as more of my career. Only, calling it a “Career” isn’t my thing. It’s my hobby. My passion, something I love doing. It’s never felt like a job to me. It’s an outlet I can use to express my style and aesthetic, through something I love doing.

Interior design is what I want to build a future in. As well as business, but that’s just a minor. It’s not just something I love doing for myself. I want to pursue my hobby of expressing my creativity, for other people. Bringing their dreams and visions to life. Spicing things up, like I loved doing at a bright young age.
